If you and your soon-to-be ex-spouse can put aside your emotions and mutually agree on a plan for child custody, parenting time, child support and property division, you can save thousands of dollars on attorney fees.  You're also likely to be happier with your agreement than if you were to spend many months litigating the case and then having a judge decide all of these issues for you.  

Advantage of Uncontested Dissolutions versus Contested Dissolutions:

• Fast.  Most uncontested dissolutions I do take 35-45 days from the date we file the initial Petition for Dissolution.  Missouri has a 30-day waiting period and during that time we work on and file our settlement documents.  
• Less Expensive.  Predictable flat-fee rates: 
  • $1,200 (plus filing fee) for uncontested dissolutions without children
  • $1,500 (plus filing fee) for uncontested dissolutions with children
  • $1,200 (plus filing fee) for uncontested paternity matters
  • Most filing fees are $100 - $200 and are set by the county where we file the case
• Ownership of decisions.  You and your spouse make decisions, not a judge.  In my experience, divorcing spouses who settle cases by agreement are much happier than a judge-decided case.  
• Less Time off of Work for You.  Most of the time you do not have to ever appear in court
